Kenneth Farrugia

Kenneth Farrugia was appointed CEO of the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA) in April 2023. Prior to joining the MFSA, Mr. Farrugia was the Director of the FIAU, Malta’s financial intelligence and single AML/CFT Supervisor and Enforcement Unit in Malta. Throughout his career, Mr. Farrugia held audit positions both within private audit firms and the public sector. Since joining the MFSA in 2023, Kenneth Farrugia has overseen the implementation of a three-year strategic plan aimed at enhancing regulatory effectiveness, fostering innovation, and ensuring the stability of Malta’s financial services sector. Mr. Farrugia is also the Chairman of the FIAU.
