Animoca Brands teams up with Soneium to extend Moca Network's identity layer

Hong Kong-based gaming and venture capital firm Animoca Brands has collaborated with Sony’s Layer 2 blockchain, Soneium, to extend the Moca Network’s identity layer.

In a statement released Thursday, Anomica said that its Moca Network plans to create an identity layer on Soneium.

At its heart, the Moca Network identity layer is built around the AIR Kit (Account, Identity, Reputation), a universal account system that is blockchain-agnostic, meaning it can operate across different blockchain networks and platforms. This system allows users to consolidate and manage their digital identities seamlessly.

"Moca Network's Account, Identity, and Reputation SDK (AIR SDK) will be integrated into Soneium blockchain, enabling users to maintain embedded accounts, unique identities, and credentials as they explore various dApps on Soneium," Animoca said, adding that Anime ID would be the first decentralized identifier and reputation layer to adopt the AIR SDK for integration into the Soneium blockchain.

The identity layer leverages advanced cryptographic technologies, such as zero-knowledge proofs (ZKP) and tamper-proof mechanisms, to ensure data security and privacy.

"By integrating Moca Network’s AIR SDK and Anime ID into Soneium and Animoca Brands launching anime-inspired cultural campaigns, we aim to onboard global anime fans to the blockchain, enabling them to collaborate, create, and infuse the world with emotion," Jun Watanabe, chairman of Sony Block Solutions Labs, said in the statement.

Sony Block Solutions Labs, the multinational conglomerate's blockchain subsidiary based in Singapore, launched the Ethereum Layer 2 Soneium’s mainnet in January.
